A Study on the Economic Estimates Methodology of Culture, Sports and Tourism Industries: Based on Businesses using Administration and Survey Data in 2014

The purpose of this study is to clarify the definition and scopes in
industry of culture, sports and tourism and to do the economic estimates
in industries by using businesses data from the supply side. Therefore
it is possible to measure both the statistics of the individual industry
of the art, culture, sports, tourism and the statistics of total industry
combining of the culture, sports, tourism.
First of all, industry of the culture, sports and tourism is defined as
an industry that includes the art industry, culture industry, sports
industry, and tourism industry. And the scopes of this industry of the
culture, sports and tourism is compiled according to nationally recognized
industrial classification of each individual industry.
Through the case analysis, the measurement indicators for the economic
estimates were selected as follows; The number of businesses, output,
total added value, and the number of employees. In this study, we also
have looked at the methodology of measurement for each major indicator
through the case analysis.
In this study, we divided materials into survey statistics, administrative
data, and exiting statistics and examined the economic estimates
methodology of individual industry of the culture, sports and tourism
using the materials. We have derived the economic estimates methodology
of total industry of the culture, sports and tourism in from this result.
In the process, it was suggested considerations when doing economic
estimates such as how to solve the area of duplication between industries.
We also defined assumptions about the population considering
redundancy. Finally, based on the estimates methodology derived from
the above, we suggest the economic estimates of industry of the culture,
sports and tourism using actual data and administrative data.
This study is expected to serve as a guide for doing the economic
estimates of industry of the culture, sports and tourism. This is because
of the following reasons. First reason is that this study links the industry
classification and Input-Output tables with classification framework in
industry of the culture, sports and tourism. Another reason is that the
study suggests considerations and base assumptions as doing economic
