1985 Nov Established Tourism division within the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI)
1987 Feb Established Cultural Development Research Institute within the Korea Culture and Arts Foundation (KCAF)
1994 Jan Decided to establish Korea Cultural Policy Institute (KCPI) (Reportedto the President), 1994 July Launched KCPI
1996 Mar Received Approval to establish Korea Tourism Research Institute (KTRI), 1996 April Opened KTRI (Transferred control of KOTI' tourism Functionand research staff)
2000 Sept Moved to a new building (Banghwa-dong, Gangseo-gu)

Dec. 04, 2002 Inauguration of the first president, Chung Soon-taek
Dec. 05, 2002 Launch of KCTPI
Mar. 14, 2003 Inauguration of the second president, Lee Young-wook
Mar. 14, 2006 Inauguration of the third president, Song, Jae-Ho
Feb. 02, 2007 Changed the name to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute
Oct. 01, 2008 Inauguration of the fourth president, Choung,Kap-Young
